Project: Hyde Park Barracks, London
Engineer: P.L. Ross
Value: Approximately £8m

This was our first design build project with Mansell Construction for the M.O.D. This barracks exists to service the Life Guards and the Household Calvary who are involved in ceremonial duties at Buckingham Palace. There are nearly 300 horses stabled on site.

This contract involved the upgrading of these stables and the provision of new infrastructure, which meant a refurbishment of a concrete framed listed building constructed in the 1970's, designed by Sir Basil Spence. All of the horses were temporarily relocated into accommodation opposite the barracks in Hyde Park, however, the soldiers remained insitu living over the site. The whole area remained operational throughout construction. We have since enjoyed three further repeat commissions from Mansell.
